Check Out My W.o.W and My Book Haul Y'all!!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by Breaking the Spine,
that showcase upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

Today's Book:

Marie Lu
Date of Release: October 7th, 2014

**I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside.

Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are rumored to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.

Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret of all.

Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.
Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.

It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.**

"THE YOUNG ELITES is my new, upcoming YA series (the first book comes out in Fall 2014 from Putnam/Penguin Books). It's set in a fantasy, Renaissance-like world where magic is new and misunderstood, and where societies of dangerous young people with supernatural powers battle for supremacy. Think X-Men meets Assassin's Creed 2 meets Game of Thrones. (At least, that's the goal!) The following are some sources of inspiration that capture the general feel of the story.~ Marie Lu

Check out this quote and some awesome ideas Ms. Lu has conjured up on Pinterest, for her upcoming series, The Young Elites.

I gotta have this, like, YESTERDAY!
It has all the elements of a BASS ASS, High Fantasy, Showdown!
OCTOBER! HURRY UP!!!

*Anticipation is such an Aggravation *

What do y'all think of The Young Elites??
What book are you guys most Anticipating???

Before I go, take a quick look at my Book Haul, Y'all!!

*Hardback Books:

Towers Of Midnight by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson~ This is book 13 in the EPIC Wheel of Time Series. I've been reading and listening to book 1 in this series, here & there, for about a week now, and I am now on a mission to collect all the books in The Wheel of Times Series. The reason why book 13 just happens to be my first in the collection is b/c it was on sale for $7 bucks. No way was I going turn that deal down!!!
Death Sworn by Leah Cypess~ I  had this book posted on one of my "Waiting on Wednesday" memes, a book I have been anticipating the chance to read. Our local B&N finally got the book in, therefore, TAAA DAAAA!!! :)
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke~ I've had my eye on this massive, behemoth of a book for a while now. I know I don't really have the time to read right now but at a price of $9 bucks, how could I resist, Right?!?! Wouldn't you have done the same?!

 *Paperback Books:

The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle~ I've been on the hunt for his treasure for 2 years now. I know I know, I could of just ordered it online, but what's the fun in that. I like to go to bookstores, old and new, and search and hunt down the books I want. This is one of those books, so I was DELIGHTED to find it on the shelves. The employee of the bookstore said I was got lucky, It just came in 2 minutes ago. Wooo Hooo!
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood~ Another gem I've been anxiously waiting around for and Wallah!! Same person who brought in The Last Unicorn brought in this one. Guess what! I paid $5 bucks for both! BOOYAA!!!
The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell~ Bought this while shopping at Sam's Club, they always have new debuts and releases, and they're inexpensive ;) Well, this one caught my eye b/c it said "If you liked Gone Girl (by Gillian Flynn), you might enjoy The Other Typist....The best book I've read so far this summer."
I've read Gone Girl and enjoyed it, so I thought I'd try this one out. Plus I wanted something different from what I've been reading, fantasies, and thought something mysterious and thrilling would be superb ;)
The Help by Kathryn Stockett~ This book was in the FREE bin, YES!, the FREE BIN!!! SCORE RIGHT!!! Yea, I was happy dancing outside the bookstore when I saw this one. I've wanted this book too. Seen the movie and LOVED it, so I know the book has got to be wonderful!

*Library Book

Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins~ This book caught my attention, probably, 2 months before it's debut. It sounded fresh and fun, young and spunky! A YA Urban Fantasy about a teenage southern belle who finds out that she's got these magical powers and that she needs to protect a fellow schoolmate, who just happens to be the oracle.
Sounds like a fun read. Fingers crossed!

There's nothing better than going on a treasure hunt and coming up with the very best there is. I think I scored pretty good this past weekend. If I keep this up, I could open up my own Library.

Thank You all for stopping by!
YOU ROCK!!!

BIG hugs and Lots of Love

    1. hahahaaa! I know, I wish we had some more books stores around here. We have two used bookstores and a Barnes&Noble here. I live in a military town and about 45mins away is a college town. My town is pretty much fast food & chain restaurants. If I really wanted to find some great bookish stuff, the college town is really THE place to go. They have all the cool stores out there. Thank goodness we have the beach though. Lol! But don't get me wrong, now, We still got lots of cows around her too. hahahaaaa

  15. I had to laugh at the fact that book #13 in the WoT series is the first one you're buying. You're totally right, though - can't pass up a deal!! I'm on book #11 of this series - I started it way back when the first book was written - I was in high school! I love the story, but Jordan does love to ramble on - I've been listening to the books on audio now, which works better for me. :-)

  16. The Help is on my TBR list! Also I had no idea that Johnathan Strange & Mr Norrell was such a beast of a book! I want to read it so badly but I'll have to set aside a hefty amount of time for that one! The price you got it for was impressive though, bargain!!
