Hey Guys!
So Lately I haven't been blogging on the weekends because I'm cleaning the house or busy running errands, mostly just hanging out with the family since it's the only time my husband gets off from work.
I figured since I'm not able to do the usually , Saturday Stacking the Shelves or The Sunday Post, I'll be doing something I threw together that's inspired by the two memes listed above. This is what I came up with:
Hey Y'all!!! Check Out My Book Haul
Mondays I'll be re-capping and sharing posts and anything
bookish that happened last week. Also the most important thing...
I'll be sharing my most recent Book Haul!!
During the weekend I get a little bit of a "Me Time" which is
exactly what is sounds like, time alone with me, myself and I!!!
During this time I usually go straight to Dunkin Donuts for my
medium mocha iced coffee then head on over to the bookstore.
After 2 bookstores and the library I'm exhausted and broke!
BUT........I'm super stoked
because I have new books to add to my rapidly expanding
beautiful book collection.
Re-capping Last Week
The usual bookish memes I participate in:
•Top Ten Tuesday
•Waiting on Wednesday
•Thursday Quotable's
•Friday's Feature & Follow
Last Thursday I changed it up and I participated in a meme hosted by IceyBooks called, What's Next. This meme is perfect for those who have a boat load of books to read but are clueless in choosing which one you want to read next. ME!! I'm always torn between what book I want to read next! With What's Next you pick 3 books that you want to read but have fellow readers choose the book for you!! BRILLIANT!!! They simply leave a comment on your post, indicating which book they loved or are interested in you reviewing. How cool, right!!!
So I think I'll be switching it up on Thursday's. One week, Quotable's and the other week, What's Next. The other 3 memes will stay the same.
Update on Last Week's What's Next and Friday's Feature & Follow:
On What's Next the 3 books I had y'all choosing from was Throne of Glass by Sarah Maas, Cinder by Marissa Meyer and Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor. HANDS DOWN Cinder won!!!
As soon as I'm done reading my current read, The Winner's Curse, I'll be reading Cinder by Marissa Meyer.
On Friday's Feature & Follow the question asked was about our reading habits and if and how much they've changed. This topic ended up being an emotional one for me, bringing up a lot of memories. Reading through it made me realize just how much I've changed and really, HOW DAMN PROUD, I am of myself!!! Right now I'd like to take the time and thank all of the wonderful bloggers who stopped by and left a comment on my post. I am genuinely thankful and so inspired by y'alls encouraging and meaningful words. I truly take it to heart!
BIG hugs and lots of love and well wishes to each and every one of you!
Now Time for the best part!
BOOK HAUL, Y'ALL!!!
Gifted to me:
This was gifted to me from Oak Anderson the author of Take One with You. I found out about this author and the giveaway through Goodreads. The author signed his book:
Michelle, Life is not Fiction. Live It. Love It!
The book came with some pieces. A name tag, that I think, bodies in the morgue get hung on their toe (Body: Female: Jane Doe) lol and a piece of an article, like a section of the newspaper that was torn out. Both pieces, bits of information from the book. I love books that interact with the readers. I think it's pretty rad. Thank You Oak Anderson!!
Books purchased:
All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill ~ I got this book because, well, it's been on my TBR list for a while now and then just recently I've read great reviews on it. A video blog review by Books to the Tea pretty much confirmed the buy for me. I trust her judgement b/c of another book she recommended was just as awesome as she said it was gonna be! ( that book was The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas)
The Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch ~ This is book 3 in the Gentleman Bastard series. I haven't read any of the books yet but I've been recommended this series by so many of my friends and fellow book lovers. So for a while now I've been obsessed with completing the collection of these 3 books. I got lucky with the first two finding them together at a used book store in pristine condition. The 3rd I got online from amazon for $5 bucks less than retail price.
• Last week I finished reading Half Bad by Sally Green and I meant to put a review. So I'll be getting that together and posting it sometime this week along with The Burning Sky review.
• Right now I'm almost half way done with The Winner's Curse. Hopefully by the beginning of next week I'll have the review for it ready to be posted.
Movie News:
I saw Divergent over the weekend with some girl friends and I must say, that even though a lot was left out, gruesome parts I was really hoping to see, It was pretty darn great!!!
I am totally swooning over Four's character and I now have a girl crush on Ms. Shailene Woodley! She is a star and I thought she played Tris triumphantly! Can't wait for more!!
My husband bought our girls the movie Frozen on Saturday and so far I have seen it 8 times since then. My 3 year old daughter is CRAZY about this movie. Which is fine because I'm BANANAS over it as well! We'll scream the song "Let it Go" at the top of our lungs, while twirling around the house. AMAZING Disney movie. I can't wait to take our girls to Disney World next year :)
Alright y'all! That's it!
I'll shut up now!!
LOL
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of The Winner's Curse and
watching Frozen several hundred times before tomorrow's post.
Hope everyone had a wonderful and bright Springy weekend and a Nice Monday!
Tomorrow is Top Ten Tuesday.....
