Friday's Feature & Follow: Some of my Favorite "Not So New" books I'd Recommend

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison ofAlison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

TODAY'S QUESTION/TOPIC:

Recommend some of your favorite back-list books – books that are at least a few years old (I’m thinking 5-10 years old rather than classics)

Publication: 2008 (6 yrs ago)

This book is just amazing! It has everything, adventure, romance, tragedy, magic. After reading this book, Marchetta easily became one of my favorite writers. This book is also the first in The Lumatere Chronicles. One of the BEST series out there!
#Fantasy, Romance, High/Epic Fantasy, Young Adult

Publication: 2002 (12 yrs ago)

Fun and adventurous. You'll journey through another world with characters only the mind of Clive Barker could conjure up. Such a fantastic book and one of my all time favorites.
#Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Teen, Childern

Publication: 1999 (15 yrs ago)

This book was a jaw dropping new read for me. I've never read anything like this at the time, so it was refreshing to get something so odd & bizarre. This book has an unbelievable twist and some crazy character. A must read! #Contemporary, Thriller, Humor, Adult Fiction

Publication: 2003 (11 yrs ago)

This was the first book I read by Neil Gaiman and I was excited b/c I heard so many good things about him. This was really great! Dark and Imaginative. Now it is a lifetime goal of mine to read and collect everything Gaiman has published (well, whatever I can get my hands on) #Urban Fantasy, Horror, Young Adult, Adventure
Publication: 2006 ( 8 yrs ago)

If you like fairy-tale retellings, then you will love this book. This book takes you on a thrilling adventure to a, kind of, story book land with wolves that are half man, a very "large and in charge" Snow White" and a wicked huntress with a very odd obsession. When people ask me to recommend them a book, I always mention this one.
#Fantasy, Young Adult, Horror, Adventure, Mystery

Before I joined Goodreads, two years ago, all I read was older books. When I got on Goodreads and starting seeing what was going on in the more present, "day in age" of reading, that's when I started reading some of the more popular/newer books that are out.

Hopefully y'all will find these books listed interesting. I certainly love them and can't get enough of them

What are some of y'alls back-listed favorites?

  1. I haven't read any of these, Michelle, but I'm going to check them out. :) I've always meant to read John Connolly because I met him once - in the bookstore where I work. He's the nicest man and I absolutely LOVE his accent. ;)

Thanks for dropping by my blog and following. I'm following you back. Happy Friday!

  6. Fab choices and I've read them all apart from Finnikin of the Rock which I am desperate to read! Loved them all apart from The Book Of Lost Things which I didn't completely click with for some reasons.

I've actually got the first two Abarat books signed by Clive Barker..... very prized possessions!

  9. Oh my god, this list is SO AWESOME!!! Someone other than my has Abarat on their list?!? I like don't even know how to handle this. I seriously know of three people in the ENTIRE WORLD who have read the books, and no one else has even heard of Abarat! Ahhh I'm having a happy fangirl moment haha. And I loved Neverwhere - I think it might be my favourite out of all the Gaiman novels (and at this point I've read all but The Ocean etc.), which is really saying something because I've really loved everything I've read by him. Also I crazy love the background you have for this blog. Just sayin.
