Book Beginnings: Take the book that your currently reading and share the beginning, the first question or so, of that book.
Night Film
by: Marisha Pessl
Blurb: Night Film tells the haunting story of a journalist who becomes obsessed with the mysterious death of a troubled prodigy—the daughter of an iconic, reclusive filmmaker.
On a damp October night, beautiful young Ashley Cordova is found dead. Though her death is ruled a suicide, veteran investigative journalist Scott McGrath suspects otherwise. McGrath comes face-to-face with the legacy of her father: the legendary, reclusive cult-horror-film director Stanislas Cordova.
For McGrath, another death connected to this seemingly cursed family dynasty seems more than just a coincidence. Though much has been written about Cordova’s dark and unsettling films, very little is known about the man himself.
Driven by revenge, curiosity, and a need for the truth, McGrath, with the aid of two strangers, is drawn deeper and deeper into Cordova’s eerie, hypnotic world.

Book Beginning ~ "A large chandelier showered golden light on the crowd as I surveyed the party in the bronze mirror over the mantel. I was startled to spot someone I barely recognized: myself. Blue button-down, sport jacket, third or fourth drink....I was losing count....leaning against the wall like I was holding it up. I looked like I wasn't at a cocktail party but an airport, waiting for my life to take off.
Infinitely delayed.
► My Thoughts~ First of all, I'm sorry, I got carried away LOL!! I found it hard just to end it with that first sentence. My thoughts on the beginning of this book: Just from that couple of sentences I could tell what kind of guy the main character was gonna be. So that's pretty neat.
The Friday 56: Take the book that your reading (or any book) and turn to page 56. Share a sentence or more that intrigues you.
I'm going to stick with the current book that I'm reading, Night Film.
Page 56~ "I imagine he's brokenhearted. It's funny to consider, given the horrors of his work. But I've always suspected the dark was there to reveal the light. He saw the mental suffering people and hoped his films might be a refuge. His characters are ravaged, beaten. They walk through infernos and emerge charred doves."
► My Thoughts~ If that doesn't creep you out!!!! **shivers**
I'm about 80% done with this book at the moment and I can very much admit now that it's a pretty good book! Hauntingly wicked and madly suspenseful, having me sitting on the edge of my seat. Chewing all my already gnawed off nails!!!!
Hope you guys enjoyed! Check out my other memes/quizzes/blogs throughout the week!!
(I'm really NEW at this so I don't have many and I'm still trying to figure this whole blogging thing out)
