Red Rising
By: Pierce Brown

"Darrow is a Helldiver, one of a thousand men and women who live in the vast caves beneath the surface of Mars. Generations of Helldivers have spent their lives toiling to mine the precious elements that will allow the planet to be terraformed. Just knowing that one day people will be able to walk the surface of the planet is enough to justify their sacrifice. The Earth is dying, and Darrow and his people are the only hope humanity has left.

Until the day Darrow learns that it is all a lie. Mars is habitable

The war begins..."

The debut of this book was one of my most anticipated of 2014! The wait is now over and I'm finally reading it :) YAY!! As soon as it came out on midnight, January 28th, I was reading it on my Kindle. (waiting for my hardback to come in the mail, lol)
So far this book has not disappointed me! It pretty much sucked me in from page one, absorbed and captivated me!
I've already been a blubbering mess!!!

No One Else Can Have You
By: Kathleen Hale

"Small towns are nothing if not friendly. Friendship, Wisconsin (population: 689 688) is no different. Around here, everyone wears a smile. And no one ever locks their doors. Until, that is, high school sweetheart Ruth Fried is found murdered. Strung up like a scarecrow in the middle of a cornfield.
Unfortunately, Friendship’s police are more adept at looking for lost pets than catching killers. So Ruth’s best friend, Kippy Bushman, armed with only her tenacious Midwestern spirit and Ruth’s secret diary (which Ruth’s mother had asked her to read in order to redact any, you know, sex parts), sets out to find the murderer. But in a quiet town like Friendship—where no one is a suspect—anyone could be the killer"

It took a lot for me to finish this book. I felt really old reading it for some reason :(
The thing that sucked was that I pretty much knew who the killer was a couple chapters in.
Just wasn't my cup of tea ....
1.5 stars

Doll Bones
By: Holly Black

"Zach, Poppy and Alice have been friends for ever. They love playing with their action figure toys, imagining a magical world of adventure and heroism. But disaster strikes when, without warning, Zach’s father throws out all his toys, declaring he’s too old for them. Zach is furious, confused and embarrassed, deciding that the only way to cope is to stop playing . . . and stop being friends with Poppy and Alice. But one night the girls pay Zach a visit, and tell him about a series of mysterious occurrences. Poppy swears that she is now being haunted by a china doll – who claims that it is made from the ground-up bones of a murdered girl. They must return the doll to where the girl lived, and bury it. Otherwise the three children will be cursed for eternity . . ."

Actually I started reading this already but when Red Rising's debut made it's appearance on my Kindle yesterday, Doll Bones kindly took a backseat until I finished with it. BUT!!!! Whenever Red Rising gets to intense, I'll find myself scooping up this book and reading. Even though it's a bit chilling. Can't wait to fully dig my claws into this one. So far it's really fun :)

What are y'alls Wednesday what's?? I'd like to know :)
Til then

  1. Red Rising sounds awesome, I can't wait to read it. Doll Bones sounds pretty good too.

    1. Hey Monique!
Yes girl! I'm so glad the wait is over and I finally have this book (ebook) in hand!! So far it is fantastic, super intense and fast pace!!
I read a little bit of Doll Bones while waiting for Red Rising release and what I read I really enjoyed! Seems a little chilling but really fun :)
      Thanks for stopping bye

  2. Red Rising is up near the top of my wish list, the plot sounds amazing and I've seen nothing but glowing reviews so far. I recently discovered Holly Black and I love her - The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, omg - but I haven't gotten to Doll Bones yet. It looks really good though! No One Else Can Have You I think I will pass on - love the title, but the story sounds pretty lackluster and I've seen a bunch of low ratings for that one. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for adding my button to your sidebar! I got so excited when I scrolled past that!

    1. Oh your very welcome!! I'm all about supporting the people who are gonna help me out by reading and commenting on my blog. So thank you!!! xoxox
and I'm totally checking out The Coldest Girl in Coldtown this weekend :)

  3. I have Doll Bones sitting on my shelf, and I can't tell you how many times I walked by my bookshelf and thought, man, I REALLY need to read that soon! It sounds so awesome. And I love the cover. I'm eager to see what you think of it once you finish it. :)

    1. If I wasn't reading it the same time as I am another book, I'd probably be finished with it. So far it's really great and super fast pace. I have a really good feeling about this book, I know I'll love it! But definitely stay tuned for the review!
      Thanks for stopping bye ♥
and P.S. Read Doll Bones lol Do it Do it

  4. No One Else Can Have You seems to be the type of book that people either love or hate. I'm not sure that I want to pick it up based on what I've read about it. We shall see.

    1. yea it was definitely a disappointment for me. I was excited to read it too. I love a good mystery but this one was way to predictable :(
