Making Up For Monday's: Favorite Place to Read

Here we are, another Monday! Let's have some fun a do a Monday meme. Each week I'll do, Making Up for Mondays, hosted by An Avid Reader, A Wanna Be Writer. There will be a theme/game/something fun to do that week and you are more than welcome to play along. Just answer the question for the week and explain why on you blog. Don't forget to link your post here and on our hosts page. Thanks Y'all and Happy Reading

Today's Topic/Question:

February 17th ~ Where is your favorite place to read?

My favorite place to read is outside on my front porch. In the freezing cold,

the mosquito ridden scorching summer heat,

or in hurricane like rain,

I love to sit on my wooden chair and read my books. The reason why I will suffer through tumultuous weather is to get away from the beast within my house....

MY CHILDREN!!

I think all parents who have kids, have their own "hide away", to get away from their kids.

A couple other places I find myself reading is:

the bathroom~ I'll turn the fan on and act like I'm "doing my business"

my car~ I've actually used the excuse "i gotta run to the store" just to drive down the road to read a chapter or two.

Sad I KNOW!!

But Really, I love to sit outside on my wooden chair, with a cup of coffee, my smokes and my book. It's quiet and nothing is better than the breeze of fresh air on my face and the birds chirping in the back round while I read a good story!

Where's your favorite place to read?
I'd love to know. Til then....
HAPPY READING Y'ALL!!
xoxo

    1. My husband laughs at me b/c I will bundle myself up with multiple coats and sweats, gloves and a beanie. Just to sit outside for 30 mins every two hours or so. Recently it snowed here, like 4 different times, which is odd for eastern NC, but my ass would still go and sit outside, blocking the snow from landing on my pages. LOL
      DETERMINATION!!!

  2. Ha! This cracked me up. My husband found me downstairs reading in the unfinished basement laundry room one day and looked at me like I was crazy. I told him I was just waiting for the load to finish. Which was kind of true - but really I was just trying to escape the kids for a little while! :-)

    1. It's crazy the things we'll do just to get some peace and quiet so we can read just a few chapters :)

  3. This is hilarious! I completely love the gifs and pictures. And reading in the freezing cold? That takes a lot of determination.

  4. That's a good idea, reading in the car. I mean, I feel like I should go do that from time to time.

Also, I do not have kids yet, but am writing down the front porch chair idea for when I do!

    Awesome GIF use.

  5. That sounds like my mom. She used to "go to the store" all the time and sometimes she'd get so lost in the books, my dad would drive to the store to check on her hours later only to find her parked on the side of the road reading.

  6. LOL! I love this post. <3 I don't have kids, and I'm not sure I ever want one. But I'm okay with that :) I do have an annoying cat, though ;p I love reading in my chair. <3

  7. When I had small children, I'd always hide like that. Now they're in school and it's just me and the dog snuggling on the couch...
